Description

Drosera filiformis tracyi - A Stunning Sundew with Long Dewy Tentacles Add a fascinating touch to your plant collection with the Drosera filiformis tracyi , known for its long, dewy tentacles that trap and digest prey. This eye-catching sundew currently stands 4-6 inches tall but can grow up to 12 inches or more. It thrives in full or partial sun and is highly heat-tolerant, withstanding temperatures over 90°F. Each plant is shipped potted in a 2-inch container filled with sustainably sourced Canadian peat, which helps reduce plant shock and ensures a faster return to full dewy splendor. This is definitely one of my favorite plants to look at. It was on my wish-list for a while and then eventually my mother plant was gifted to me as a tip for working at a plant show. 🌟 Key Features: Species: Drosera filiformis tracyi Size: 4-6 inches tall (can grow up to 12 inches or more depending on conditions) Heat Tolerance: Handles temperatures over 90°F Dewy Tentacles: Perfect for catching prey 🚚 Shipping & Guarantee: Shipping Method: Priority Mail USPS Guarantee: If your plant doesn’t arrive alive, simply send pictures upon delivery for a replacement or refund. Plant Size: Plants naturally vary but your plant will be between 4-6 in tall. Photos 1 and 2 are my mother plant, photos 3 and 4 are plants that have been sold under this listing. You may request an exact photo of the plant you'll receive (of course I'll always pick the best available plant for you). Potting Medium: Shipped potted in high-quality, Canadian peat moss from sustainably managed bogs, which helps retain moisture and ensures your plant arrives in optimal condition. 🌿 Care Instructions: Water: Keep in 1-2 inches of distilled, rain, or reverse osmosis water at all times. Light: Thrives in partial to full sun. Gradual acclimation to full outdoor sun is recommended but not always necessary. Can do well on a sunny windowsill that receives direct sunlight. Temperature: Ideal range is 25-85°F. While it can tolerate brief extremes, temps below 50°F may trigger dormancy. Dormancy: Recommended during winter when the plant’s leaves die back, but not required every year. Get in touch if you have questions about how to best give the plant dormancy in your specific conditions and I'm happy to help. Potting Medium: Avoid using a potting medium with nutrients or minerals. For most sundews, I typically use straight peat moss, but you can also mix with sand if you'd like more drainage. The peat moss I use is available in my shop. If you’d like to combine shipping, I can fit some plants into the box of peat moss—just let me know! Printed copy of care instructions is not included. Care instructions and plant information are in the listing for your convenience and to reduce unnecessary waste. Please reach out if you have any questions. 🌱 Additional Tips: Regaining Dew: The plant should regain its dew within a few weeks if conditions are right. If dew is lost, check water levels and try increasing light exposure. Troubleshooting: Ensure adequate water and consider increasing light exposure if your plant isn’t thriving. Enhance your collection with this unique carnivorous plant. Order now and experience nature’s artistry up close!
