TILLANDSIA SECUNDA is one of those plants made for anyone who can't grow plants. The photos show a six year old flowering plant, where new budded plants grow from the flower stalk. Around it on the ground are 6 year old plants with new shoots, coming into flower. These plants are grown in full California sun in soil and watered heavily. The plants hanging in light shade under the patio cover are NOT in pots and have no soil. They are watered lightly and are about 12 years old and will flower in a few years. The plants I have on top of the patio cover are grown without soil, in full California sun, and watered with a light spray every week or 2. They are 20+ years old. The offshoots are easy!
