This is a species collected by Fabio. He was unable to identify this species, but others have called it Campomanesia malifolia. Fabio suggested to give it the nickname "Gabiroba Pear" until we can make sure to have the correct identification. It is a nice fruit, with a sweet flavor, and a little acidity. It is able to be eaten fresh, or processed into sweets like jelly. The species will start fruiting at just 2.5 meters in height, and usually grows like a tree. The largest fruits that have been collected from this species were 7CM in diameter. The species can be found on the coasts of Parana and Sanata Catarina.
