Description

This houseplant potting mix is a soilless medium. It is especially good for African violets and related plants. Made of a mixture of hand sifted sphagnum peat moss, perlite, vermiculite, horticultural charcoal, dolomite lime, and trace elements it is especially light and porous. It works very well in soak through type ceramic violet pots, and for plants grown by wick watering, or in Oyama Planters, or on capillary matting. It is easy for the plant’s root system to penetrate this mix. The contents of the two 3 quart bags will fill approximately thirty 3” pots, or twenty 4” pots. This mix is packaged dry to prolong its shelf life and you should moisten it with hot water before using it. Instructions are on the label. It can be used for traditional watering from the top of from the bottom, but because it is so porous you would need to water more often. This mix contains no fertilizer, and no wetting agents.
